LINDA MARKOWITZ , Partner

Linda Markowitz , LINDA MARKOWITZ loves both functional and dysfunctional families and finds people endlessly interesting. She is currently in private practice of law concentrating in family and matrimonial law, and wills, trusts and estates and is transitioning her practice to be largely a collaborative law practice within the next several years, as she believes that it embodies a combination of the litigation skills she has learned over the last twenty years and her personal philosophy of matrimonial law.

She is a past President of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association, a position which she held from June, 1999 to June, 2001. She served the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (“WBASNY”) in many capacities, and is still active in the WWBA as a co-chair of the past president’s committee and as the immediate past president of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association Foundation. She graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, obtained an Masters in the Art of Teaching degree from Manhattanville College, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pace University School of Law in 1989. After graduation from law school she worked for a general practice firm until 1994, when she established her own solo general practice firm. In the year 2000 she became a founding partner of Rosenthal & Markowitz, LLP along with her good friend from the WWBA, Kathy Rosenthal., another WWBA past president. She is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of New York and the State of Florida, and the State of Connecticut, the United States District Court, and the Supreme Court of the United States . She is a member of the Law Guardian panel and represents children in Family Court matters. She has also served as a member of the board of the Westchester County Bar Association, and currently serves as a director and executive committee member on the boards of the Justice Brandeis Westchester Law Society, and Surprise Lake Camp. Linda also serves on the Non Resident Sub-Committee of the Membership Committee of the New York State Bar Association. Linda is very busy from these activities but still finds time for the loves of her life, her four grandchildren.
