Firm News
Rosenthal & Markowitz, LLP has had several exciting years of unprecedented growth in both personnel and the range of services we offer. The Firm and our members continue to grow as professionals and as people.
Kathy continues to teach Wills, Trusts & Estates as an Adjunct Professor at Pace University School of Law; She earned the Adjunct Professor of the Year Award in 2005 for a fourth consecutive year. She asked not to be re-nominated for the Board of the Women’s Enterprise Development Center, but accepted a position on the Board of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association Foundation and will be serving as Treasurer in 2008-2009. She also devotes time and energy to the Westchester Public Private Partnership where she sits on the Board and continues to serve as Secretary. She remains busy with the Westchester Women’s Bar Association (past president 2001-2003) co-chairing the Golf Outing Committee and worked on the WWBA’s Media Package. She is also teaching Wills, Trusts & Estates for the “Transitions” program at Pace Law School for attorneys returning to work. In her spare time this summer, after teaching summer session at Pace, Kathy will golf and garden and squeeze in a bit of traveling.
Linda has added Collaborative Law to her practice in addition to litigation and divorce mediation. She is a member of the New York Association for Collaborative Practice, www.collaborativelawny.org and also a member of the Association of Collaborative Lawyers of Westchester and Rockland, www.collaborativelaw-ny.org. Linda continues to be active on many boards in the community and within the legal profession, including the Westchester Women’s Bar (past president 1999-2001), the Westchester Women’s Bar Association Foundation where she will be serving as President for the 2008-2009 year, the New York State Bar Association where she serves on the Membership and Diversity Committees, and the Surprise Lake Camp Board where she serves on the public relations and development committees. She uses her non-billable time to enjoy her three grandchildren, anticipating a fourth, and she is learning to play golf.
Adrienne continues to bring her considerable social work skills to the practice of law. This past year she focused much energy on resolution of the issues which arise when gay or other unmarried couples fail to plan adequately for their property in the event they separate, having litigated numerous partition actions over issues of title to real property. She reminds us that all couples need to engage in planning before intertwining their lives and assets. She finished serving two terms as Treasurer of the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and continues to assist the Directory Committee and is a Director. Adrienne founded the “lady lawyers” - a golf league that plays at Maplemoor Golf Course during the summer, and she continues to develop as a golf contender.
